![]() ![]() ![]() Sure, the “main” campaign looks solid, but the zombies mode has Jeff goddamn Goldblum in it! Could we be seeing the beginning of the end of the traditional Call of Duty story campaign? Certainly seems like it might be the case. There’s kind of no mistaking the fact that Activision is putting more effort into this year’s zombies mode than the story mode. From its four-player co-op campaign to the brand-new powers and a fleshed-out Zombies mode, Black Ops 3 meaningfully pushes the Call of Duty series forward on several fronts. Aspyr later released the game for OS X in September 2012. Beyond that, it’s kind of hard to discern what the actual plot is, but hey, Christopher Meloni will be in it! Time to bring some Law & Order (and maybe some fridge humping) to the future! The release this week of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 marks a gender milestone for the Activision-published blockbuster series, one of the video game industry’s few household names. Call of Duty: Black Ops is a 2010 first-person shooter game developed by Treyarch and published by Activision. It was released worldwide in November 2010 for Microsoft Windows, the PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360, with a separate version for Nintendo DS developed by n-Space. As far as marketing stunts go, Activision's Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 official site flurry on Twitter through the week was, how shall I put it, not very well thought out. ![]() It looks like the story will be about soldiers trying to maintain their humanity as their bodies and brains are pumped full of more and more wiring. Call of Duty: Black Ops III may be completely axing single player on last-generation consoles, but a story-driven campaign is still very much in the works for the Xbox One and PS4, and Activision just released a new story trailer to prove it.Ĭall of Duty: Black Ops III takes place 40 years after the events of Black Ops II, in a world that’s become even more wired and tech-dependent. This all came via a leak and that Treyarchs 2021 title is now being brought forward due to development trouble at Sledgehammer (who will now be helping to support the title). Activision and Treyarch released the official story trailer for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, and it doesn't look like a future anyone but a Call of Duty character would. ![]()
